I think this minipet wouldn't sell for that much. Only those rare one (mini panda, ghostly hero, naga, and others) are worth the price of 100K + whatever amount of ectos.

I just want one because I don't have one. Value be damned.

I won't give up my little scorpion dude either, so don't ask.

Whether it's 30k or 100k, that's still more money than I had before, and I'm not too proud to turn down 30k for a minipet. If it sold for more, I'd be thrilled.

I might buy the magazine this weekend, hopefully I'll get more information on GW2 from it.

Is that the only thing a minipet is good for? reselling it? I disagree I think everyone should get the minipet and have fun with that cute little rabbit ear guy (: I still love my Gray Giant that I got from last PC Gamer minipet giveaway. But then again I don't own minipets for profit.

I"ve always thought the same as the OP. Ever since non-birthday/non-CE minipets started coming in...

Everyone jumped on the first one - The Grey Giant remembering the 100k+ecto kuunavang, and grey giant PRIMIERED at like 60k (You had to spam for hours to get over 60k the first hour Nightfall servers were up..), and the that one wasn't even as wided publicized as this one and came out in an era where minipets had real worth.

And thats when it started going down hill..All the way down to the Minipig, which was going for 30k TOPS in the first 15 minutes of the event even only a hand full of people even knew where they came from. The icing on that cake was when they dropped in the finale, which hit their going price of 8-10k down to Free-1k.

The Kuunavang still sells for 100k+ecto. I think the market will already be flooded with mini Asuras for the sheer fact that every GW player is probably gonna want to land their hands on the PC Gamer mag to read it for themselves.

Big deal.

Sorry, it's not the same.

The most harmful aspect of gold farmers to the game is that they find exploits to farm gold at rates many times faster than the average player. After it is sold, this injects gold into the economy and causes inflation which raises prices all around. Secondly, the farmers make money on Anet's software where they have no real right to.

Now, Anet giving away a minipet doesn't do this. No gold is introduced, no inflation occurs, and thus the economy isn't harmed. While the pet may be an incentive to some people to buy the magazine when they otherwise wouldn't, note that you do get a magazine with the pet, and millions of existing subscribers wouldn't mind getthing the magazine without the pet anyways.

This makes it signicantly different than, say, Anet selling a minipet in the online store, alone.

Now, if you don't believe this, just trust that Anet will do everything in their power to protect their investment. They like money just fine, and wouldn't do anything that would jeopardize the steady source they have now.

The value of the mini-pets is only what you can get another person to pay for them. Demand for the newest mini-pets will always be high, and then drop once they get common enough for folks to under-cut. Pretty simple.

HaHa! I already was thinking that trust me if people are running over there to sign up for a free issue now basically the end of March and it takes them 4-6weeks to process your order sometime 8 you will get the June issue I tried that for another magazine and got the next issue after the one I wanted.

The thing is if your trying to make a quick buck off the asura minipet it will be your own fault on what you get for it, everyone is always trying to be the first person to get something and then sell it for outstanding prices like they did with the mini pig and then the next day they where given out in droves. Use your money on something you know you wont be able to get with ease.

Right, simple fact (as i got mine today)

Just like the Gray Giant, you can only make one per account, so buying multiple copies of the mag is a usless waste of money and once you make one, if you sell it, you CAN'T make another! Thats it, good night god bless

Well most "power" players have multiple accounts. I inherited my best friends account and use it for storage. Guess that's two Mini's for me then!

My first thought when I saw it in Kamadan ID1 was Mini Chucky! I think it's the ugliest thing I've seen in GW!

Just like all other "free" pets this will be worth 20k on the open market, maybe less, considering the chilly reception it got when Gaile annouced it's arrival.

I plan on keeping mine, ugly FTW.

Edit: Forgot 1 important thing, I have 3 accounts..WTS FUGLY mini pet 20k

Opinions are mixed about the Asura, it's true. I like mine, especially the little growly face, but you know, to each her own, eh?

I'm not too worried about "worth" or resale value. I love my miniatures and don't consider them a saleable commodity, although certainly it's every player's right to sell them. (In fact, I should head over to the trade forum to see if anyone is selling a Bone Dragon or a Mallyx or a... Yeah, it's like Pokemon -- I gotta catch 'em all! )

Zappa: Sinto. Perhaps Portugal will get on the list; I know that they are still talking to media partners about placement.

tweedledumb: Oooooh, yes, a Djinn miniature! Tasty!

Its not the same as Anet wont be banning anyone for buying magazines and reselling mini pets.
